What essential oils should I avoid during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, any essential oils that mimic a hormonal response should be avoided as a precautionary measure. These oils include – but aren’t limited to – basil, camphor, hyssop, pennyroyal, sage, savoury, thuja, wintergreen, clary sage, rosemary, juniper, thyme, tarragon and aniseed. Always consult your aromatherapist and/or physician before using essential oils when pregnant or breastfeeding. Our Muscle Relief Balm contains camphor, so please avoid it if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
